If you have an existing Jama 8 installation that you want to migrate to different hardware (physical or virtual), use the following process to migrate the Jama installation:
|1.||Log into Jama as root user. Enable maintenance mode.|
|2.||Take a snapshot of the system.|
|3.||Migrate the /data directory (and all of its contents) from the old server to the new server, preserving the structure and permissions of the contents.|
|4.||Move the snapshot from the old server to the new server.|
|5.||Restore the snapshot on the new server.|
|6.||If the IP address of the two servers are different, please follow the steps in Changing the IP Address of your application server.|
Note: Because the snapshot contains the license, this isn't a viable option for creating a test instance.
