The Releases tab displays a tree view of all releases along with "Unassigned" which displays all items not currently assigned to a release. Use the Releases tab to review and organize releases. To view items assigned to a release, you can either expand the release in the tree (good for a small number of items) or select the release and view the items in the list view.

You can move items from one release to another by dragging and dropping from the list to the tree. Remember that you can use multi-select in the list to move multiple items.

When you move items from one release to another, Jama tracks that change and adds a record to the version history.

See the Project configuration releases documentation for additional information on releases.

Releases settings

Release planning is something that is done individually within every organization and often times within every project. Use the Release Explorer Settings window to designate which items types to show under the Releases tab.

Use my own settings

Users can override the default releases explorer settings with their own personal settings.

Show these types

Only releases containing item types selected here will display in the release explorer. No selection will display releases containing all item types.

Show item IDs

When enabled, this will prepend all items in the releases explorer with their ID.

Display Global ID

When enabled, this will prepend all items in the releases explorer with their Global ID.

Show archived releases

When enabled, any archived releases will also display in the releases explorer.

Display downstream relationships

When enabled, the relationships explorer will display downstream relationships of items in the tree. See relationships for details on the additional relationship filter settings.

Warning: Be careful of infinite loops as the tree will expand through relationships that relate back to an item.

Note: Users with Administrator permissions can configure the default settings whereas other users will have the option to use the default settings or create their own.
