Jama Connect User Guide

Electronic signatures

Electronic signatures consist of a username and password. In the case of a review, a moderator can require electronic signatures to show that a particular person in a particular role approves of the review. Electronic signatures can also be added to baselines.

Signatures are captured with a time/date stamp and an audit trail tying the signature to the individual user as well as the item(s).

A system administrator can configure authentication properties to enable or disable electronic signatures.

Electronic signatures can be added to baselines or reviews.

When a moderator requires a signature for a review, they can assign a signer role that aligns with the signature meaning, which is "I approve this review."signature meaning

You cannot delete a baseline that was created from a review that has an electronic signature.

Electronic signatures depend on the authentication system your organization is using. Authentication properties can be configured by a system administrator.

When Jama Connect is integrated to single sign-on (SSO) on our SaaS environment, the electronic signature option is disabled. Electronic signatures are not compatible with SAML based SSO tools, because with this configuration, users don't enter passwords directly into Jama Connect.
